e-trash (electronic trash)

E-trash is just that, electronic trash. Have you ever wondered where all of your electronics go when you get rid of them? Well a lot of places will tell you that they get recycled and the parts get re-used, bull-crap!!! Our electronic waste mostly goes over the seas or to the dump, only some of what we throw out gets recycled. Take a look at this quote from CBS news: "According to the Environmental Protection Agency, in 2005 we threw out 2.2 million tons of unwanted electronics. Most of it went into landfills. Only about 345,000 tons were recycled." E-trash is a growing problem that people don't realize, but do need to be aware of before it gets out of hand and starts causing problems everywhere! I think e-trash is a growing problem and that people need to find a safe way to dispose of all of it.

Digitizing Books-Google has problem's

I think digitizing books is helpful but at the same time I also think its useless to do so. Google is digitizing books not publically but instead for private use! In other words they are going to charge people to read a book online rather than just let you read it for free like at a library. Most of the books that Google’s doing this to; are all under copyright laws which they are completely ignoring and not getting the permission of the authors before they do so. Some of the books however are up for grabs (meaning that they are allowed to do this) because the copyright has run out on them. All in all I think that Google is doing the wrong thing even if they decided to go and find the authors finally and TRY to get their permission.

Intro

Hi everyone, my name is Daniel. I'm am 16 years old and a junior in high school. This is my first Tel/Net/Web class, but its my 3rd computer class, so I'm pretty good with them and no i don't know everything about them (however i do know a couple of people that know almost all of it and how it works) but I'm learning that right now. I was raised as an only child but i have 4 half brothers and 2 half sisters that i don't really see that much except for the one i live with. I like to occasionally read books, nothing wrong with them in my opinion. I like to hang out with my friends and play games with them, overall I'm a pretty relaxed person and it takes alot to get me mad. I mostly do what other people want to do (about 90% of the time) because I usually don't care what i do, as long as it doesn't get me into trouble.
